YC - What is your background? What motivated you to start the company and what is it all about?

Sahil & Parth - Sahil (my pal from the same school and partner) MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur and myself MBA from AIM, Manila shared the same dream of doing a startup and luckily it clicked. We studied which sectors were growing globally and where these opportunities could fit within the Indian business landscape. We narrowed down the possibility of healthy products. Parth and Sahil said,

“We witnessed that no company in the food space was catering to the various breakfast table requirements. Consumers had to buy from multiple vendors and various brands to fulfill their breakfast requirements. That’s where our opportunity lay.”

YC - Could you please share with our readers your current team size?

Sahil & Parth - Team of 60 - 3 Management Team Executives and remaining middle management and logistics executives. We also have 3 distributors managing different parts of NCR

YC- As a founder basically how typically you spend your day in the office?

Sahil & Parth - As a founder, there are just two rules -

“Every place that you are awake in is your office and there is no start and end time - your business is a part of your life (much like breathing)”

YC - Have you used social media to promote your brand? Which channels have been very effective for your business?

Sahil & Parth - We have extensively used Facebook and Instagram especially to introduce new products. From a paid marketing perspective, Google ads are what works best for us!

YC - What according to you is the USP of your milk, for which your customers come back to you?

Sahil & Parth - 1. Relentless focus on product quality (natural, pure & nutritious)

2. Living the motto - the customer was, is, and will always be emperor

YC - Can you elaborate on the challenges you faced in promoting your business?

Sahil & Parth - This product category requires education along with individual brand promotion. So this category will grow when all the players in this industry work together and highlight the benefits of this category of farm-fresh products.

YC - Do you use any tools or software to manage your business? Is there any problem in your day-to-day operations that you wish could be solved with the help of software?

Sahil & Parth - We are heavily tech-focused for our entire operations process. The customers have access to a very user-friendly app that is linked to our back-end system to seamlessly connect the entire value chain.

Our challenge often is the shortage of products when ordered last minute by the customer as we guarantee freshness and only produce what is pre-ordered. Hence we always have a trade-off between excess and just right production.

YC - What is the current traction? Can you share some numbers on your order volume, number of customers, and revenue?

Sahil & Parth - We currently serve over 20 farm-fresh food products as part of our portfolio with cow’s milk being the primary product. We have annual revenue of Rs 5 cr and have served over  15,000 customers to date a total of 1 million-plus liter of milk

YC - Based on your experience so far would you have any advice for new Entrepreneurs.

Sahil & Parth - Give yourself a decent runway by having your personal finances in place so that you can give the required justice to your idea that it deserves. Also, focus more on the doing and just a bit less on the thinking part in the initial stage.

Do not get into analysis paralysis.”
